Some mods use loose files in preference to a bsa, in general just replicate the file structure within the Data folder and all will be well.Īlso for the difficulty quitting I find it more convenient to keep another application open and alt+tab to that and then right-click to close the skyrim process from the panel. The bsa is an archive (that's literally the 'a' part of it) of the modded files the esp just (re)directs the loading of them. Most modders work on Windows and there (because filesystem), for example, Scripts is the same folder as scripts, whereas for the common Linux filesystems they are different folders/locations. More generally a comman gotcha to look out for is the (mis-)capitalisation of files and folders. Overrides are not needed for this version in my experience. None this updated method solves the previous issue and it finally runs as good as Windows. Click install on them and go through the prompts to get them enabled. drag and drop the 7zip files to where it says drag the bottom of the vortex page.ĩ. Manually download the 7z files of the mods you want.Ĩ. It should take to the nexus page for the managed game. once installed and running vortex go to Games -> Discovered you should see Skyrim listed. Download lutris annd run this install script to get the cortex mod manger.Ħ. rename SkyrimSELaucher.exe to and then rename skse64_loader.exe to SkyrimSELaucher.exe (this tricks the steam client into launching from the script extender )ĥ.
Get the script extender and move the files over to the install directory of the game like you did on Windows.Ĥ. I know for me it was something that was very important to me when I moved from Windows to Linux as my gaming OS.ġ.Download the game from your steam library.ģ.

I wanted to make this tutorial since the process isn't obvious, there are a few gotchas and I had to piece it all together.
